General Gumtree Posting Policies

At Gumtree we want to make sure that the site is as clean, friendly and usable as possible for everyone. Ads that fall outside the posting rules stated in this Help section or our Terms and Conditions may be removed from the site. Posters that regularly break our posting policies may find their future use of the site restricted.

General reasons for removal

1. Against policy
2. Duplicate ads
3. Wrong category
4. Should be in business services
5. We only accept ads in English
6. Only relevant to local community or local businesses accepted
7. No excessive use of capital letters. Gumtree community find it very hard to read ads which use capitals excessively, and of course it just encourages others to do the same and makes the site unreadable.
8. No website links to other property/ job/ dating/ classified or auction sites
9. Ad not descriptive enough
10. Your ad appears to be a copy
11. Inappropriate language
12. Inappropriate photo/ image
13. Discriminatory on race/ religion/ nationality
14. Do not put location, price or URL's in titles
15. Ads that try to sell or offer services for supplements/medicine general or pharmaceutical
16. We do not accept ads selling body parts/bodily fluids, adoption or surrogacy anywhere on the site.
17. Ads that report other fraudulent ads. Please report potentially fraudelent ads via the "report this ad" option located within each ad or contact Gumtree help with ad details (ad id, email address)

Gumtree reserves the right to remove any postings that we feel are not relevant, or of value to the Gumtree community, with or without notice.
